Nicklaus Golf Dual Point Fairway Wood Review

While I have recently wrote a review of the Nicklaus Golf Dual Point Driver, I felt that I should look through my past test sheets to write about more Nicklaus Golf Products. I feel it is a shame that these golf clubs constantly get over looked so I will do my best to give you my honest opinion on their new products. Their premium line has been great for many years, and this season is no different. Golf Digest has already made mention of their driver last season, and they will be in the line up again for 2008.

The Nicklaus Golf Dual Point Fairway Woods are the perfect compliment to the Dual Point Driver. It features the same Multi-Layered face design which keeps the outer portions of the face thin and the center of the club face thicker for maximum trampoline effect and maximum distance. The standard size fairway wood also features a shallow face to help aid the golfer in getting the ball airborne and to add to this, a 35 gram weight in the sole to further lower the center of gravity to give the player a high launching shot every time, from almost any lie!

Hitting this fairway wood was a dream come true! Just like the driver, it looks great, feels great, and the ball really takes off the face! I had little to no problem getting the ball to fade or draw when I wanted it too, and I was even able to hit some lower trajectory shots with it as well! The Multi-Layered face really does the job of making the ball jump off the face at impact, and even on off center hits, my shots went long and straight. This fairway wood is designed for any player looking to get more distance with a better ball flight than their traditional fairway woods. The technology in this club really does everything it says it will and more! I even put a few in the rough to see how it would handle and it was able to get the ball out evertime with very little catching in the tall grass.

If you are looking to pick up 10 yards by simply buying a new club, I would give this fairway wood a try. You may need to search long and hard to find a place to demo one though. As of right now your best bet might be to go to an indoor range or store to give them a test drive.
