Nick's Lighthouse Restaurant - San Francisco California

We began our cross county road trip on Tuesday morning and found our destination on the second day of our trip to land us in San Francisco. Dinner hour arrived and of course we decided on the Pier for our evening meal. Nick's Lighthouse was our dinner destination.

Of course the wharf is filled with street vendors and just outside of Nick's Lighthouse Restaurant stands their sidewalk vendor stand. We had considered picking up one of the great crab Louise, shrimp Louise or even a fresh cracked crab. However, after many hours in the car opted for a sit down dinner inside the restaurant.

Nick's Lighthouse Restaurant is decorated in, of course, the sea ship fashion with various kinds of sea and aircrafts hanging from the ceiling. Keep in mind when you enter Nick's Lighthouse Restaurant that it is one of the Wharf's oldest restaurant locations so don't let the fact that the building being old turn you away.

The waiter was fantastic and gave us a really good description of the menu items available and the daily specials on hand for that evening's dinner. Once we received our coffee and soda we began the task of choosing our meal for the evening.

We decided on an appetizer of fried Calamari, a cup of Clam Chowder, a cup of Lobster Bisque and then for our meal we chose to share Seafood Cannelloni. I have never tried Lobster Bisque in my entire life and I have to mention here that this was the most flavorful soup I have had the pleasure to try. The Seafood Cannelloni with steamed vegetables was just enough for my husband and I along with the appetizer and soups. Cost of our meal was $40.00 with 15% tip.

The menu at Nick's Lighthouse Restaurant also has many other dishes such as Bamberi Saltati, Steamed Clams or Mussels, Deep Fried Clams, Crab, Petrale Sole and many more great meals. Cost of each entrée is between $10.95 and $19.75.

Our waiter was perfect gave us clear concise information on the foods available and also was attentive to our needs after our food was received at the table.

Parking for Nick's Lighthouse Restaurant is a bit dicey as parking on the street can be difficult but there are several public parking lots along the Wharf area if one wishes to pay $3.50 per every 30 minutes while you eat. We chose to drive around the block 3 times to wait for a street side parking space, which you must pay for at the meter, unless you have a handicap placard for your car and those are honored across the nation.

I give Nick's Lighthouse Restaurant a top mark on my restaurant rating system because of the fine taste and freshness of the meals served and the service received.
