Nicole Kidman Confirms She is Expecting!

After years of trying to have a baby with both her ex husband, Tom Cruise, and her current husband, Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman's publicist has confirmed her pregnancy.

Back in 2001, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise parted ways. They had tried for several years to have a baby of their own. They finally adopted two children, Conner and Isabella. After the split, Nicole Kidman reported that she suffered a miscarriage. She had also previously suffered both miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy.

Tom obviously had no problems in the fertileness department, because his fiancée of only a short period, Katie Holmes, ended up getting pregnant very soon in their relationship. They had a daughter, Suri Cruise, and are now married. Apparently Nicole found out through the media that Katie was expecting, even though she spoke to Tom on a regular basis.

Rumors started swirling late last year of Nicole Kidman being pregnant, followed by the usual publicist's denials. Judging by her fertility history, it's easy to see why. Nobody who was very early in a pregnancy would want to confirm it with the lingering doubt of a miscarriage or other complications early on. Last week it was reported that Nicole Kidman, a workaholic, dropped out of her latest film venture, The Reader. Dropping a fifteen million dollar paycheck is nothing to scoff at, and tongues started wagging more. It was reported that because she was pregnant, she would no longer be able to fit into the costumes designed for the movie.

Today the internet bloggers of the gossip world rejoiced as her publicist made the official confirmation. "Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban confirmed today that they are expecting a baby. The couple are thrilled!" And it's easy to see why celebrity bloggers and the curious public alike are thrilled. After watching Nicole Kidman split from Tom Cruise and pine for a child, she is finally living her dream. And since her husband, Keith Urban, is out of rehab and off tour to stick by her side, the timing is perfect. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban married in June of 2006 in Sydney, Australia. They had a large wedding in a Roman Catholic church, followed by a gorgeous honeymoon in Fiji. Then, not even four months into their marriage, Keith Urban, a recovering addict, relapsed and entered into rehab with Nicole Kidman standing by his side. In January of 2007, Keith Urban completed his rehab for alcohol abuse and went on tour.

But now that they have made it past the bumps in the beginning of their marriage, we can only wish them the best of luck with their pregnancy and their relationship. Here's to a happy and healthy nine months and beyond for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban! Congratulations!
