Nicole Kidman Pregnant with First Child

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman is expecting her first child, according to reports. Kidman has undergone months of fertility treatment to help in her desire to become a mother.

The actress, who had two adopted children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise, is said to be very happy about the news. She and her husband, country singer Keith Urban, have been trying to get pregnant and have a child since they were married in June, 2006.

According to a friend of the couple, ""Nicole and Keith are having a baby. They've been riding on clouds since they got the news. "Nicole's been hoping for this day since they got married. Everyone knows she's been aching to have a baby. It's all she's been talking about for ages."

Keith Urban has also made it public that he wants to have a child with Kidman. The country music star, who is stepfather to Nicole's previously adopted children Isabella, 14, and Connor, 12, has said he's desperate to have children of his own.

Keith told Britain's Sunday Telegraph, "I don't get to see the kids as much as probably a lot of stepdads would, but it is a good relationship. I am looking forward to fatherhood. I have always wanted to be a good dad. My brother's got two kids and he's an excellent dad and I think we both have that sense of being home and being solid family guys."

Urban, 39, also criticized Tom Cruise and his new wife Katie Holmes for seeking publicity.

"If we were plastered in the magazines all the time and sort of got pictures willingly, it would wear off and probably people wouldn't want them so much.

"I would just rather have a more quiet life, like we do. It is relatively quiet compared to most, I think," Urban said.

He also says that he barely gets to spend time with Kidman's adopted children because they live with Cruise. They have spent the majority of their time with Cruise since he and Kidman divorced in 2001.

The New Zealand-born country singer says that while he does get along with Isabella and Connor, he would love to have kids of his own with Kidman.

Urban was released from a rehab facility in January after being treated for cocaine and alcohol addiction. He has also just completed a one week tour of Australia to promote his new album.
