In celebrity news today, Australian actress Nicole Kidman has squashed rumours that are saying that she is pregnant.

Kidman made the statement through her publicist, Wendy Day, after she arrived in Sydney, Australia to begin working on her newest film which is being directed by Baz Luhrmann. This denial comes after Kidman's interview with fellow Australian actor, Russell Crowe, where she talked of her and her husband, Keith Urban, strong desire to have a child. The interview with Russell Crowe took place in February.

In March, U.K magazine, 'News of the World' made an announcement saying that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were expecting a child. The 'News of the World' made the Kidman pregnancy claims when Nicole Kidman was seen outside a clinic in California. The clinic she was seen by, St. John's Health Clinic, Santa Monica is the also the location where Spice Girl, Mel B, had her baby girl last week.

When Nicole Kidman arrived at her Sydney home she gave waiting reporters no indication of a pregnancy.

When speaking about the pregnancy rumours, Nicole Kidman's publicist, Wendy Day, said that the report was "incorrect" she also said, "She's looking forward to going outback and riding a horse and for seven months making a film. I hardly think she will be able to do that if she is pregnant." "As if she would confirm a pregnancy to the News of the World."

In the February interview with Russell Crowe, Kidman said in response to Crowe's question, "Are you going to carry a baby?", "Yes, I would hope so."

There have been rumours circulating from supposed friends of the couple that they have been trying to get pregnant for some time now. Apparently according to these friends the couple is expecting a baby.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban spent the Easter holiday with family members after arriving in Sydney on Sunday.

Filming begins on Kidman's newest film 'Australia' on Tuesday. Initial filming will occur in Sydney at Fox Studios. Nicole Kidman's co-star in the film is Hugh Jackman. Besides Sydney, other filming locations for the new film will be in Western Australia and northern Queensland.

Kidman's husband, Keith Urben is set to commence a concert tour in Europe later this month.

Nicole Kidman already has two adopted children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise. The children are: a son Conner who was born on January 17, 1995 and a daughter Isabella who was born on December 22, 1993. Both children live in Los Angeles with Tom Cruise.
