Nicole Miller: Review of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show at Bryant Park, New York kicked off September 10 and ends September 17, 2009.

Nicole Miller revealed her Spring 2010 fashions on Friday, September 11 @ 6pm at the Salon at Bryant Park. As the models walked down the runway the program announced "the girl has a tougher edge, pushing forward body consciousness, experimenting with new technology." They were so right.

Miller's designs are tight to the body, form fitting, using assymetrical shapes throughout, with brilliant shades of abalone. These splashes of color that Nicole Miller calls riptide and ocean current. A simple black tank dress with just a hint of ocean at the shoulders looks comfortable for everyday wear.

Nicole Miller also uses draping fabric around the hips and stomach areas in her designs. This could be a good thing or a bad. It can hide our trouble areas or draw unnecessary attention to them.

The most elegant dress of the evening was her silver gray number with different tones of gray in stripes on the dress. Sequins are placed in squares throughout the front of the dress. I love the elegance and sparkle of this dress with the sheer drape in the back which is perfect for elegant occasions or a night on the town in a expensive restaurant. You will sparkle wearing this dress and be noticed. It's beautiful.

Another dress I liked was the all blue dress that would be perfect for bridesmaid's dresses or for the prom.
The most comfortable dress there was the swirled black tank dress with colors of green, blue and white throughout.
It looks comfortable enough to wear on the beach, to work, or for everyday use.

Nicole Miller's tough side shined at the show with her pairing of jackets with biker shorts and leggings. A white leather jacket with sequined silver black leggings, and a black leather zippered jacket with blue shorts pulled the tough look together nicely and looks wearable. Miller uses alot of black, gray, blue and white throughout her designs.

Runners and joggers will love the zippered gray terry long sleeved jacket paired with the white biker shorts. It looks comfortable.

The only designs I did not personally like was the dress that had one full sleeve on one side and a strap on the other. It doesn't look right. Also the see thru sleeveless sheer top and sparkle skirt was unattractive and unwearable.

All her designs were paired brilliantly with ballerina strapped shoes that wrap up the leg. This made the outfits sexy.
