Nicole Richie's Amazing Transformation

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton Should Take a Leaf Out of Nicole Richie's Book!

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton could clean up their act if they wanted to!

I get a bit sick of hearing about the latest dramas of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton being played out in the media spotlight. These two party girls could clean up their act if they really wanted to. It is sad that girls with such potential choose to live their lives in drug-fueled party mode. Neither are teenagers now (Paris is 29 and Lindsay 24), so isn't it time they took a leaf out of Nicole Richie's book?

Of the two, I feel sorriest for Lindsay. I consider this troubled young woman needs more help than she is currently getting. Jail and rehab are obviously not the answer to her drug issues. She is medically ill and needs to appropriately hospitalized so she can get the sort of treatment that will work long-term to ensure her future wellness. Paris Hilton seems to consider that drugs are socially acceptable. Perhaps she is more in control of her intake, but that doesn't mean what she is doing is right or in her own best interests.

Nicole Richie's transformation and her range of talents

Nicole Richie used to be headline material, just like her old pal Paris. An eating disorder and a stretch in rehab seemed to work for her. These days the adopted daughter of singer Lionel Richie is enjoying a long-term relationship with Good Charlotte lead singer Joel Madden with whom she has two children. Daughter Harlow was born on 11 January, 2008 and son Sparrow on 9 September, 2009. Nicole and Joel became engaged in February this year and it is rumored they will marry before the end of 2010.

Instead of being shunted in and out of jail or rehab, Nicole has turned her life around and turned to a range of creative ventures. She is in New York for the book signing for her latest literary triumph - Priceless. It is the second book she has had published and just one of her recent accomplishments. Her first book, a semi-autobiographical novel, The Truth About Diamonds, was released by Bharell Jackson Publishing. The novel is loosely based on her life, but is mostly fictional. In early January 2006, The Truth About Diamonds was number #32 in Hardcover Fiction on The New York Times Best-Seller List. Priceless, was released on September 28, 2010. It is a story about a wealthy young woman named Charlotte whose stockbroker father is busted for embezzling millions from his clients. Charlotte escapes the media attention surrounding the scandal in New York City and relocates to New Orleans where she builds a new life for herself.

"I don't think anyone is just a one-dimensional person. There are a few different people inside of every person," Richie said in an interview.

Richie has also made a name for herself in the fashion industry with an accessories line, House of Harlow 1960, and a clothing line called Winter Kate. She is creative director for both enterprises. She refers to her acceptance by the fashion industry as a blessing.

"It's very exciting. I'm learning a lot, I'm learning as I go."

Nicole returns to NBC's Chuck next month to film her recurring role as Heather Chandler, a former high school mean girl-turned-spy with a talent for kung fu.

Richie's next adventure will be singing

"Music is something that I love so much and it's very close to my heart," she said. "I would never want to do something that I can't put all of my time and heart and soul into ... but ... I'm only 29! I have time!"

Nicole Richie's amazing transformation should be an example to those who need to change their lifestyle. With her family and business commitments, it is obvious she doesn't miss the party-girl lifestyle. She has grown up and is obviously happy to put her energies into family life and creative pursuits.

My wish for Lindsay Lohan

It would be wonderful if Lindsay Lohan could find the same measure of happiness and success away from the party scene and out of the media spotlight. It isn't too late for her to get well and try new things. She just needs a lot of help to transform herself into the person she could be.
