The dark came out of the shadows
Dragging a trail of blackness behind
As it engulfed the lone lovers
On a newly hewn stormy night
The passion ignites the soul's fire
And together their heat
Cuts deeply into the brisk night's bitter wind
For none of the darkness' dangers and pitfalls
Could elope their love
From their sweaty bodies and melding hearts
The darkness breaks the unseen bonds
Which couple people together
But in a rare few, the ties of love
Stand stronger than any force
Even the deadly, cursed night of darkness
