"Night Before" French Toast

A Make-Ahead Favorite for a Breakfast Buffet

This terrific breakfast is easy to put together the night before. What a great time saver when you have guests or are serving a special occasion brunch. Try it with real maple syrup and fresh berries on the side.

Ingredients

Serves 12
1 10 oz. loaf French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
8 eggs
3 cups milk
4 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions for "Night Before" French Toast

Prepare the pan.
Spray 9 x 13 inch baking dish with Pam spray. You may also grease the pan with butter.

Add bread.
Arrange bread cubes in a single layer in preaperd baking dish.

Combine other ingredients.
Mix eggs, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla.

Microwave.
Microwave egg mixture for 5 minutes on High, stirring twice.

Pour.
Pour hot egg mixture over bread.

Cover and refrigerate.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Prepare for baking
To bake, dot with 2 Tbsp. butter and place uncovered pan in cold oven.

Bake
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes, until puffy and lightly browned.

Serve.
Cut into squares and serve with syrup, jelly, or fruit.
