Night Vision

night vision
and we are stripped of our security
tinted glass and mirrored lenses
come apart and shatter
protons scattering-

not in this lifetime.

physics as religion
chemistry is faith.

night vision and we watch
through plexiglass and telescopes
wandering forms across distant planets
language foreign
we are alone on ours
we are together
on this trip-

protons
scattering
lifemythdeath

and we are abstract
this is abstract
anthropology, observation
you are all hypotheses
zoo thoughts, caged and microscopic
trapped under the lens
camera rolling
shutter clicking
digital emancipation
imaginary truth

gigglehugbreathe-
the volume is oppressive
and i hate this.

night vision
and the protons come together
warmth and silence
touch like an
epiphany

life
death
truth
this
quiet steady comfort

night vision
and the dreams are clear
as day.
