Nightfall in the Neighborhood

Steven West
Nightfall in the neighborhood,
Quiet all around,
No one walks the streets.
No one makes a sounds.
Why is it so quiet?
Where did the people go?
I have no answers to give.
I simply do not know.
Then I see an old man
Walking in the street.
Looks so sad and lonely,
Wrinkles long and deep.
No one around to comfort him.
No one seems to care.
Quiet in the neighborhood,
Sensing great despair.
The moon appears out of the clouds.
It's waiting for some guests.
Nightfall in the neighborhood,
Spoken from the chest.
