The nightlife in Anjuna Beach, Goa, India is limited but has a strong presence. Known as a party-town for its notorious trance music galas, Anjuna and the surrounding beaches shut-down pretty early, most of the time. Find information about specific restaurants and trance parties not online, but via flyers and posters hung around areas frequented by tourists and the expats who live there. Live music is hard to come by, except at the Saturday Night Market and Wednesday night after the Flea Market.

Restaurants: Going out to eat offers one popular nightlife activity in Anjuna, Vagator, Baga and nearby Ashwem offer a variety of high quality restaurants with low prices. A sandwich costs between 100 and 180 rupees. You should expect to pay between 150 and 400 for an entrée - with pasta dishes being at the low price end of the scale and seafood at the high end. Often owned by foreigners, you can easily find Japanese, Italian, German, Russian and Indian restaurants within a 10 minute scooter ride from your accommodation. Restaurants in Anjuna, Goa serve delicious healthy food, made with fresh and imported ingredients. Despite the delicious food, restaurants in Anjuna Beach and the surrounding beaches don't stay open for long save a few staples like Artjuna, Fusion and the German Bakery.

Trance Parties: For better or worse, trance music parties are the centerpiece of nightlife in Anjuna, Goa. Most of these parties start around 7 pm and end a little after 10 o'clock due to a local noise ordinance. Other parties begin at 4 o'clock if you want to get in free. Prices to enter the trance party in Anjuna, Goa start at 50 rupees and go up to 700 rupees for special events such as Christmas and New Years. Anticipate Indian ladies with chai tea, rolling papers and pastries, along with the usual beer, cocktails and soft drinks. You can dance to DJ's from around the world.

Chapura: Your third nightlife option in Anjuna, Goa is Chapura. This small and dirty barrio is basically an intersection with two juice bars, some bars serving alcohol and a holy statue complete with smoking platform. There is also a pizza, schwarma, fish and falafel restaurant. Busy most of the day, Chapura is sometimes packed with people socializing, drinking juice, smoking chillums and getting drunk. There is plenty of cows, traffic and people watching to keep anyone amused for a couple of hours. Chapura is especially popular as the after-party location when the trance party finishes.
