Nightlife in Branson, Missouri

Although the resort city of Branson, Missouri is most often billed as a family friendly destination, the local scene is not lacking in nightlife. With 47 live venue theaters, there is always a show to see. Music styles range from down home country to nostalgic Big Band and classic rock and roll. If nightlife means more than a show, there are several spots in Branson that offer diversion.

Planet Branson on Highway 248 is one of the newest, trendy spots. Famed for their Karoke, Planet Branson also offers American Idol type competitions. A huge dance floor allows dancing every night. On Thursday nights, ballroom dancing takes the floor.

BT Bones at 2280 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway is a bar and grill-style establishment that features live country music, a dance floor, and delicious food. A full bar is available as well.

The Outback Steak and Oyster Bar also has a pub. This Australian style, Aussie themed spot offers wide verandas to enjoy the night air in season. The pub features more than one hundred varieties of beers including many world brews. Sandwiches, appetizers, and drinks are available in the pub, which has a warm, cozy feel. Enjoy waiting for a table or spend the evening in the pub at the Outback.

Go where the locals go and visit Rocky's Lounge in historic downtown Branson. Rocky's is housed in a building that once served as a feed store. It's hard to get away from the popular hillbilly image in Branson but Rocky's, despite the feed store heritage, is contemporary. Delicious Italian food, best in the Ozarks, is served at Rocky's along with a full bar, live music, and a dance floor. Locals and tourists mingle here. If stargazing fits the bill, hang out at Rocky's because many of the local celebrities who own theaters on and near "The Strip" come to Rocky's after the show.

Other popular watering holes include McGuffey's, a restaurant and lounge that offers an academic atmosphere, and the Faculty Lounge Bar.
