What Time does the Nightlife in Pushkar End?: The nightlife in Pushkar, India does not go until dawn. In fact, the vendors on main street start closing as the sun goes down. Some stay open while others pack up early. Almost everything except Original Baba, one convenience store and the central chai shop close before 11:30. Expect the bustling street nightlife to go on until about 10 pm. After 10 pm Pushkar is a bit of a ghost town.
Nightlife in Pushkar, India at the Guesthouses and Hostels: Hanging out at the guesthouses and hostels in Puskar, Rajasthan is one way to spend your evening and late night hours. These places usually serve food late into the night for guests and their friends. Live music and recreational smoking goes on late into the night. The type and quality of the music depends on the guests. Giving and receiving henna tattoos is also a popular way to pass the hours.
Restaurants Pushkar, India: Eating dinner at a restaurant is a popular nightlife pastime in Pushkar, India. This town is meat and alcohol free. Indian, Israeli and Italian foods dominate the cuisine. Sit on a stool in the street and eat finger food like falafel or sandwiches and drink fresh juices or eat fruit salad with ice cream. Other restaurants offer courtyard garden seating or roof top seating with a view of the lake. The quality of these restaurants varies wildly from dish to dish and from year to year. I highly recommend La Pizzaria for Italian food, but that's my opinion. I also like Blue Star Organic and Original Baba (not to be confused with various other baba restaurant names).
The Chai Shop: The chai shop is located in the center of town and is the center of nightlife in Pushkar, India. Located in what is referred to as the main square, it is really more of a triangle. There are about 20 stools out front of the chai shop and there is always an Indian guy inviting you to sit down and have a drink. This place is open from morning to night and is absolutely the last place to close at night. Nightlife here includes sitting with friends and meeting new people. You can also watch the parade stroll by.
Festivals: There are many festivals in Pushkar, Rajasthan. Sometimes it feels like there is a musical parade every night of the week. These cultural displays are interesting to newcomers, but can get repetitive if you hang out in Pushkar, India for a while.
Camel Trip: Sunset camel trips into the desert are popular and fun when you have a good guide. Wander out into the dessert on a camel's back, watch the sunset and camp out under the stars.
