If you want to go to a place where there's a night life for everyone, no matter what your tastes are, then Savannah, Georgia may be the place for you. Savannah has one of the biggest St. Patrick's Day Celebrations in the world, the second biggest in the United States after New York City, and this isn't for nothing. Savannah is a happening place, if bar hopping and pub crawling is your forte.

There are a variety nightlife options for visitors and residents of Savannah, Georgia. Savannah is one of the best places to visit, and is renowned not only for its history, but also for the number of drinking houses in the historic district. Whether you're with a family or partying as a couple or solo, there's something for you in Savannah, Georgia. Many of the pubs and bars are in historic buildings that are more than a hundred years old, so you can enjoy the 18th and 19th century architecture while sipping a pint of your favorite ale.

Most of the bars and pubs in Savannah are in the historic district, with the greater concentration being on River Street or near City Market. There are Irish pubs, and British pubs, American pubs, and plenty of bars, some that are more like restaurants that serve food and are family friendly.

One of the best pubs in Savannah is Kevin Barry's Irish Pub at 117 West River Street. It is located in one of the oldest surviving buildings in Savannah, Georgia. They serve delicious food and the place has a great atmosphere. They also have a spectacular view of the Savannah River.

Another place to go if you are vacationing with your family and want to go out for a night on the town, is Loco's Grill and Pub at 301 W Broughton Street. Loco's is a great place to bring the family or to come with a group of your friends. They handle large parties well, but I would recommend calling in advance if you have more than six people in your party. They serve great food, and upstairs there is a pool table. There's also a bar on the first floor where you can watch the game and have a beer.

Or if you're young, or perhaps just young at heart, you can dance the night away at one of the night clubs. One of the best dance clubs in the city is Club One, located at 1 Jefferson St, at the corner of Bay St. There is live music and performances. Although it is known as one of the best gay bars in Savannah, you don't have to be gay to go there. It is quite popular with students from the local art college, and is packed on the weekends with students and tourists.

If you're single and are looking to go out on the town with your friends, apparently one of the best places to go is Jazz'd Tapas Bar, located on the corner of Broughton and Barnard Streets in the basement of the old Kress building. The entrance is on Barnard Street, just look for the steps going down to the entrance. The place is very chic and stylish. It is a popular place to be and many students and tourists go there for a night out on the town. They have live entertainment Wednesday through Sunday and it's a great place to listen to good Jazz music.

This is only a short list of the best places that I know of in Savannah to go to for a night out on the town, there are certainly others. To write about all of the fantastic places in Savannah, could fill an entire book. Savannah is a great place to go, and there is a lot to see, do, eat and drink there.

I love writing, and sharing what I know with others. I also like to travel and wish I could do so more often.  View profile
