Why the hard feelings?
Let me enlighten you with my recent debacle with Apple.
An accessory for the iPods Nano is the Nike plus, which comes with a small sensor that fits into your shoe and a receiver for the iPods. You may have seen the commercials during Christmas with the guy running to the motivating music of Ok-Go's "Here it Goes it Again" . Now, I have had a Nano for a couple months now and I bought the Nike plus package. I thought for sure this would give me enough push to really start working out. After all, the Nike plus kept track of how far you went, your calories, heck it even gave you a power song when you started to lag. I was really impressed with how the voice, much like a trainer voiced over your music during a work out to let you know how much further you had and congratulated you when you finished your workout.
So I go through the motions and I have a great couple months. I even join in on a couple challenges via Nike.com. All the time tracking my progress and total miles ran through the website.
Then tragedy strikes. I lost my receiver, the gadget that goes into the iPods. I searched and searched turning over chairs, crawling behind bureaus and beds.
Finally feeling defeated, I broke down and bought another set of a sensor and receiver. When I attached the new receiver and slipped the sensor into my shoe, I got a message saying "connect receiver to begin workout". The iPod wouldn't recognize the new Nike plus package.
Then as suddenly as it disappeared my old receiver reappeared. You know how it goes its always in the last place you look. So I was back in business, and life was back to normal. Then I lost the receiver again. So I tried my newer version of the Nike plus, to no avail. Nothing, nada. After doing research, of course beginning with Nike.com, I realized that this happened alot, and with no solution. Several people, including me are very angry at the simple blow off we kept getting from Apple via the website and the 1800 number. We were told that we needed to take the IPod to and Apple Store. But what about those people who have no access to a store?
No solution.
So now I have a Nano iPods that yes does still play music but I am out quite a bit of money for two different sets of Nike plus.
It is also interesting to note that not only is their complaints documented at the website under the forum section, but featured on You Tube are several ways to hack the Nike+.
Where is the customer service? And with the impending revamp of the iPods are we getting ready for more faulty add ons or iPods, and more sidestepping.?
