Nike Sasquatch Fairway Wood Review

High Lanch!

MikeBabjak
So, Nike has finally made a couple of solid drivers to put into their expanding lineup, so.... how about a fairway wood? Their past fairway woods were alright, but a little hard to get airborne for the slower swinging armature. They featured a deeper face than what everyone else was selling at the time and from the reviews I got from customers, nobody seemed to like them all that much! With the Sasquatch line of drivers, came the Sasquatch Fairway Woods! These finally feature a lower profile club head with a deep center of gravity, all designed to help the player get the ball airborne.

The Sasquatch Fairway Woods also feature the Powerband technology that helps to lower the center of gravity while adding more forgiveness for off center hits. It's stability on shots off the heel and toe help to keep the player on the course if they hit a less than perfect shot. Featuring a very hot face, this club really takes off, which is the perfect mix for the average player.

I tested a 15* with a stiff flex shaft. It actually looks good at address. The Powerband is still an eyesore, but the overall shape is pleasing. Not too big, not too small. When I took a few swings with it I first noticed how the ball jumped off the face! It screamed into the air with a very pleasing ball flight. I was able to hit it high for a lot of carry with no problem. I was even able to hit the ball low and work it with this club! Tiger is now using a version of this, which at first surprised me given the fact that I thought he would launch it to outer space, but now I see what he must have! The fact that this club can be knocked down and worked is not only a surprise, but a pleasure! It is one of the easiest fairway woods I have ever hit and did everything I wanted it to.

I would honestly suggest this club to anybody! It will do whatever you want it to and help you out when you make a bad swing also. Mis hits found their way in the fairway and did not loose very much distance. The Powerband does its job with the fairway woods just like in the drivers! Demo one of these over the Winter, you may just find a keeper!
