Nikki Blonsky, Star of "Hairspray," and Father Involved in Altercation at Turks and Caicos Airport

Nikki Blonsky and her father have been arrested after a brawl at Provenciales International Airport in Turks and Caicos. America's Next Top Model contestant, Bianca Golden was also arrested. According to tmz.com, Blonsky was saving seats for her family, in the departure lounge. Golden and her family wanted to sit, but the Blonsky's would not relinquish the seats. The families got into a heated argument, that quckly escalated to fisticuffs. Apparently one of Golden's relatives bit Nikki Blonsky's foot in the ensuing melee.

USmagazine.com reports that Golden's mother, Elaine Clinton-Golden, was kicked and punched repeatedly. Mrs. Golden was hurt so badly in the exchange that she had to be airlifted to Florida. She is currently hospitalized with severe head injuries. An update from USmagazine.com reports that Mrs. Golden is doing better and has issued a statement to the Turks and Caicos Weekly News, from her hospital bed, concerning her condition. "I am in pain all the way down my arms and legs, I can hardly talk or walk and my head is hurting all over." Blonsky's father, Carl has been charged with grievous bodily harm, for his alleged role in the assault on Mrs. Golden.

According to justjared.com, Nikki was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. Golden was also charged with assault. Nikki and Golden have since bonded out but Carl Blonsky will have to remain in custody until his August 8th arraignment.

Tmz.com reports, that when not brawling, 19 year old Blonsky can be found in the studio working on her debut album. She describes the forthcoming project as a cross between Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge with a little of Broadway's Linda Eder, thrown in. Add to that a little street cred for scrapping at the airport and perhaps, she'll release the remix with a guest appearance by a hardcore rapper.

Those of you who follow, America's Next Top Model, know that Bianca was recently ousted from this season's cycle of the top-rated reality show.

USmagazine.com says that Nikki is due back in Magistrate's court on December 1. Neither Golden nor Blonsky were available for comment.

Blonsky joins Shia Labeouf and Christian Bale as part of the celebrity mugshot brigade.
