Nikon Cool Pix Deletion Error S210

Jim Posey
Nikon cool pix camera has a large amount of style and sports a small design. These cameras are small in size but they make up for it in power. The s210 is a very popular camera in the series and it is accompanied by an eight megapixel screen, three times zoom, and a high quality lens. Once in a while a problem with the camera will result in the damaging of the card that will lead to photo loss or photo deletion. Most of the time, once this information is lost the only way to retrieve it is by using a piece of photo recovery software.

This problem will most often happen when the CoolPix camera is turned off because the battery is empty. The next step that people take in this situation is to recharge the battery and then attempt to re use the camera again. However, you will get an error message that will say that media is corrupt.

The problem is that reuse of the camera after it switches to off abruptly will lead to the corruption of the memory card that is being used at that instant.. When the camera shuts off abruptly the read-write process of the camera is interrupted and the memory is corrupted.

For as long as the camera is on, the read write process is running. The device being properly shut off will allow the system to shut down correctly. However, the system shutting down abruptly will lead to the SD card being rendered unusable.

The best way to resolve the format issue is to re-format the card. Ideally, the card should be formatted in the camera. By formatting an SD card you are setting up a new file system on the card and some camera specific information will be added to the card in order for the card to work. This re-formatting of the card will lead to the deletion of all of the multimedia files stored on the card but it is often the only choice.

If you do not have back ups of the image files then your best chance is trying to run trustworthy image recovery software. These software tools go inside of the card and pull out the images that you need. However, it is plausible that some images may be corrupted beyond the point of image recovery software so there might be some images you have to say good bye to.
