The camera is just a little over palm sized and has a great viewing screen. You can shoot photos but also small videos with this camera. It also comes with software to touch up your photos at home if you have the ability to print them out there. The options on the camera are many. I can take sepia, black and white, and vivid color pictures. On the camera itself after a photos is taken it allows you to refocus it or move to different areas of the photo and then save it. There are options for day, night, inside, or even snow where it would glare. There is a timer on the camera for photos that I want to be in and also some great technology in the camera that creates a clear picture even when my hands are shaking.
I paid under 90.00 dollars for this camera and with all the photos I have taken and things I can do with it I am impressed at the ability of the Nikon CoolPix Camera. The version I have is the 7.1 Mega Pixel which allows me to blow up my pictures to 8X10's without the picture getting blurry.
The only negatives I have found so far is that after you take a photos there is a small amount of seconds you have to wait to take another photo. This is not a camera you want if you are a professional or maybe if you just wish you were. It has plenty of fun buttons on the camera but not nearly enough to satisfy someone who has owned numerous camera's before. However for the people just purchasing a digital or maybe even your second but not looking to pay too much this would be an ideal camera.
A few tips on things you will need for this camera include a memory card and good batteries (perhaps rechargeables). A case would also be great but I have carried this little camera in my purse and it has proven to be very durable with everything piled on top of it. This is truly a great buy for the price.
