Ingredients

Serves 4
1/2 lb 1/2 lb ground or sliced beef
4 potatoes peeled and diced
1 carrot peeled and sliced
1 small white onion sliced
5-6 strings fresh green beans whole
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1-2 tbsp sake
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp Mirin sauce
3 tbsp Soy Sauce

Brown beef
Brown the ground or sliced beef in 2 tablespoons oil in a deep skillet or pan.

Add vegetables
Add potatoes, carrots, and onions and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add water to cover the beef and vegetables. Add Sake (optional). and green beans. Cover and cook on medium heat until potatoes are tender.

Create the sauce
Uncover. Add sugar, Mirin, and Soy sauces. Cover and simmer another 5 minutes until potatoes are done.

Serve
Serve over steamed rice. Add chopped ginger for a little extra garnish and zip.
