'Niryat Shree' Award for Hyundai Motors India

Renowned Korean car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), received the prestigious 'Niryat Shree' award for 2005-2006. The award function, which was organised by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO). The award was presented to Hyundai by President Pratibha Patil for an excellent performance in export of the Engineering and Metallurgical products.

Hyundai had also awarded as the 'Top Exporter of the year' award for the year 2005- 06 in the year 2007. In the overall export from India, Hyundai is said to account 67 percent.

Hyundai started its first car export in the year 2004 with an export of 100,000 cars, which increased to 20,000 by October 2005. The export numbers increased every year and by 2006 it was 300,000 and 400,000 by 2007. In the year, Hyundai crossed the crossed the export target of half million, that leaves a significant mark on the Indian export market.

According to Ashok Jha, President of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., "the company is honoured to receive this award. This award will help the company to further boost up it confidence and strengthen its position in the Indian car market.'
