Nitrogen Replacing Air in Tires

Amazingly, more people are choosing to put nitrogen in his or her tire instead of just air. The nitrogen assists in how your car or truck will handle and essentially give the tire longer usage. According to research experts they believe the nitrogen in tires also gives a better mile per gallon and fuel efficiency for the owner. The tires don't wear or heat up as fast either.

In the opinion of statistics using nitrogen would enable consumers, over the road truck drivers, and others have tires that literally stay cooler. Other experts agree that with the use of nitrogen it also makes gas mileage much better. And every bit of relief on the fuel economy helps. Tires with nitrogen that have the proper air pressure in them last longer.

The research also came to the conclusion that those tires with nitrogen in them allowed an individual to save money on not having to purchase as many tires. In addition, they will not blow out as easily. Its obvious nitrogen can ultimately be used in tires; even those that are already in use. And, should the tire get punctured or needs air; you can place air in the tire even if it is nitrogen filled. It will work until it can be repaired correctly.

This is a fairly new concept for tires in the automotive industry. Tires aren't all the same although this is the way some people believe. And when mentioning nitrogen some people have no clue that nitrogen will give them benefits than simply using air alone.

Not many consumers have actually used nitrogen in his or her tires however some tractor-trailers have used it. It doesn't even matter about the overall size of the tire. Some tires known as recap tires can't have nitrogen placed in them, or it's just not a good idea because these are used tires that have had new rubber put on them. Nitrogen works and experts have documentation of their testing.

In essence, as more individuals find out about nitrogen and placing it in tires more will also help the environment because the vehicle will get better gas mileage and not put out as many emissions.

Although those individuals who know about nitrogen and choose not to use it in his or her tire will simply not get as good gas mileage and they will be buying tires more than those who do not use nitrogen.

You are correct in most of your acertations except I noticed one error. You stated they cannott use Nitrogen in retread tires. Nitrogen is actually good for recapped tires. The nitrogen prolongs the life of the tire carcus and actually allows them to retread that same tire more times than if the tire was ran on regular air, because the carcus of the tire remains pliable and still in good shape longer. This has also been well documented. Good article.
