Nivea for Men Sensitive Shaving Gel Creates a Thick, Creamy Lather

Susan Slade
A product that I tried a couple of days ago was, Nivea for Men Sensitive Shaving Gel. It comes in a 7 ounce (198 g), can. It was on sale at Walgreens drugstore for $2.99, and I received the full amount back in the form of a register coupon off my next purchase.

I grew up with Nivea cream in the blue flat tin, and have always respected their products.

The can is white with navy blue, and gray. It has a press down top, that releases the shaving gel. It states on the front of the can that it is alcohol-free, it comforts and protects, and has skin guard technology.

I was heading to the beach, as we had the only nice day, here in Florida, for a couple of weeks. I wet the underarm area, my bikini line, and my legs. Then I pressed the big white pump top. Nothing happened. I looked to see if it was locked in, or had a piece of plastic protecting it, but none of those were causing the problem.

It finally came out when I had it up in the air. I had the gel on my counter top, on my cupboard, and it also went on the floor. Once it had released itself the pressure was immense.

I collected as much of it as I could, and the top part, which wasn't on anything I applied to my body parts. The rest of it I rinsed down the drain of the basin.

I loved the really light, delicate fragrance of the shaving gel. I rubbed it over my underarm area, and then used my Gillette Fusion Proglide Power Razor to take off the shaving gel. It came away with the hairs, and I felt under my arms, and they were smooth.

I then went to my bikini area, and a little of the shaving gel created a thick lather. Again I switched on the razor, and the Nivea for Men Sensitive Shaving Gel, gave a really thick cushion on my skin, to remove the hairs. I had to rinse the razor several times to remove the shaving gel's lather.

Down to my legs, and they were covered well with the shaving gel. My razor removed each line of creamy lather, together with the hairs, on my legs. Again I had to rinse the razor after each line.

This shaving gel really does look like Nivea cream when it is on your skin. I had a little left on my leg at the end, and when I touched it, it pretty much disintegrated into my skin.

My skin felt soft, and I really didn't have any stubble around my bikini area, which was great. I felt really comfortable at the beach, and knew that my skin was silky soft.

So today I wanted to check the pump top of the can again. I pressed it down 5 or 6 times before it came out. You guessed it, I had way too much gel. This is the only thing that I don't like about this product.

On the back of the bottle it states:

"For men with easily irritated and sensitive skin.
Extra gentle formula with Chamomile and Vitamin Care specially developed for easily irritated and sensitive skin.
It improves razor glide, provides a close and extra comfortable shave, helps protect against micro cuts and irritations.
Skin compatibility dermatologically tested on men with sensitive skin."

This one I am passing on to my husband, because I do prefer the EOS Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream, wet or dry. I do think that both work great, but just maybe, he will have the knack of not wasting so much of the Nivea for Men.

I will be hanging around him, as the fragrance is most definitely a plus. Maybe your guy will wear it so you can enjoy it too. No need for aftershave.

DISCLOSURE OF MATERIAL CONNECTION:
Paid $2.99 and received that amount back in a register coupon for my next visit.
