"No!"

Deborah Coss
"Noooo," I said.
But he was persistent.
"This is real!" Screamed inside my head.
He acted as if I was silent.
"Noooo," I pleaded.
And still he mauled my body.
Nothing I said was heeded.
He morals were that shoddy.
I was 17 and he, a little older.
I was tripping, and he thought, "Easy prey"
Not very many men I ever met, were much colder.
I leaned a really hard lesson that day.
A friend later had disclosed he was close by
And had heard me cry, whine and almost scream.
He told me if I did not get stronger, I might die,
And then he, "Listen, this is the whole thing."
When you say no, you can't be a little girl -
Make your voice big and sound like you mean it.
That lesson there, has carried me around the world.
If I say "No." I won't plead it.
You better accept it or be on your way!
Cuz I will say it, yell it and shout it full force-
And you'll remember it if you push too hard, too,
When my anger ran it's full course -
And you got what's coming to you!
