No Bail Out Deal! No McCain at Debate!

Mary E. Coe
Suspending his campaign, cancelling the debate, and the rush to Washington, DC to deal with the financial crisis was nothing more than another trick out of McCain's hat. Washington was already making very good progress when McCain announced that he was suspending his campaign to deal with economic crisis. McCain simply wanted to go to Washington to claim victory and make Obama look like he wasn't interested in the economic crisis.

McCain's trip to Washington did not help get the deal done. A tentative agreement has been reached this morning; (it's not a done deal) however, McCain's trip to Washington didn't help getting the deal done. I give the credits to the House and the Senate.

The latest saying is that if there is no "Bail Out Deal" that there will be no McCain at the debate. So, if McCain can't claim victory he won't show up for the debate? This is the message that I'm getting. What does this say about McCain? Obama said he will show up in Washington if he is needed for a tight vote. I agree with that. Where was McCain this week or last week? Why didn't he go to Washington earlier in the week, if it was that urgent? Why the rush to Washington after very good progress was already underway? Was it simply to claim victory?

Now that there was a bail out deal; will McCain show up for the debate and try to claim victory? Or will he leave Obama and the American people hanging?

I have no doubt that McCain is very interested in the economic crisis this nation is facing. I, also, have no doubt that Obama is very interested in the economic crisis. I believe this whole thing about suspending his campaign and cancelling the debate was an attempt to boost the polls for McCain.

I don't know about you, but I'm looking for a commander-in-chief that is all for the best interest of the country. I'm not looking for tricks. We don't need a president that will get into the white house and flip/ flop. I'm looking for a solid leader.

Now that a tentative agreement has been reached; what is McCain's excuse not to show up for the debate? There is only a few weeks left before the election. America needs to hear from the two presidential candidates. I need to know what kind of deal was reached. Was it a good deal? Or was it a bad deal made in a rush? The debate should go on as scheduled. This is just my opinion.

    Hello Lori K,
Most of us don't agree with the bail out bill. Many people don't agree with bailing out wall street. Actually, I believe they had to do something; not just to help wall street. But, to help the people on main street. That mess on wall street was affecting everyone. I don't believe they should keep bailing out wall street. When poor people or middle class people put ourself in a hole; we have to dig ourself out. As much as I was against it, I believe they had to do something. Thanks for your comment.

Last week; Sept. 25th; a tentative agreement was reached; however it fell apart after McCain went to Washington. It seemed a bail out deal would be reached today; but, the republicans voted 2 to 1 against the bill; and the bill was rejected by the house of Representatives. Where do they go from here? A lot of people are wondering how does this affects the economy. How does it affect the small business? I'm sure they will be heading back to the drawing board to try all over again.

As of this morning, it seems that McCain changed his mind and decided to go to the debate. There was probably a lot of pressure on him.
