No Black Women Allowed on VH1's the Ultimate Catch with Chad Ochocinco Johnson
Chad Ochocinco Don't Want Black Women on His Dating Show
Behind the scenes information was sent to The Young, Black, and Fabulous reporter Natasha concerning the way Chad Ochocinco eliminated black women from his show. Below are copies of emails sent to The Young, Black, and Fabulous from insiders on the set of The Ultimate Catch.
This email is from a contestant Chad sent home after she made the Top 30:
I am an avid reader of YBF and was recently selected as one of the final 85 for Chad Ochocinco dating reality show. Long story short, Chad has identity issues and primarily chose Latinas and white girls (mostly brunette's). Many of the black girls were eliminated right off the back (including Rabbitfrom Real Chance of Love)Cali made a cameo as well. I managed to make top 30 before getting eliminated.
The entire day was unorganized and Chad only wanted to do things his way; he wouldn't listen to producers and all selections were made by him only. In the beginning Chad walked the field and immediately began to dismiss girls, he later called a group of ten girls (including myself) up to the front and told us to "not worry you're not going anywhere.." Shortly after he directed us to do a quick warm up lap (at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA). This warm up lap turned into chaos; lap after lap producers were unsure of what to do next so they directed girls to keep running. Luckily, I stay with a personal trainer, so I ran a total of 6 laps before I stopped for water. Some girls began to hyperventilate, while others began to walk. One by one, Chad starting pulling black girls aside and telling them "bye." During my stop for a cup of water, Chad called me over along with a group of six girls; 5 black and 1 white. He then said "umm... you guys are eliminated... uh.. yea--yea eliminated--Except for you." And guess who he pulled out the group? The white girl.
Long story short, Chad is intimidated by a successful black woman. And this so-called competition definitely wasn't based off of looks or class. **I'm Just Sayin**
Just wanted to give you the scoop.
P.S. I am a YBF chick of Caribbean decent.
The second email received by The Young, Black, and Fabulous news site is from a member of the production staff.
Hey Theybf-
I'm a big fan of yours!!! I wanted to give you the inside scoop from Chad Ochocinco's new reality show the "Ultimate Catch". Long story short...I'm employed by the company that is producing the reality show. The show just started filming yesterday.
Now, when you watch the show it's going to appear as if he had to narrow down 84 girls to 17! In reality 17 girls were pre-selected by the producers and flown to LA a week prior to do interviews and photo shoots for the show. The other 67 girls on set were extras filling in.
When Chad arrived on set yesterday, he saw a mixed variety of nationalities that the producers had already pre-selected...five black girls, 5 Spanish girls, 6 white girls, and a girl of Middle Eastern decent. He seemed rather upset and acted irritated. The producer felt that that he was unhappy and after talking to them off air, Chad wanted to revise the list of the pre-selected girls. He wanted to send home all of the black girls and replace them with some of the Caucasian and Hispanic girls who were actually extras on set.
After not having picked any black girls to remain on the show the producers pressured him into picking at least two. Chad, in turn, chooses the two most GHETTO girls there to represent us. And by ghetto...you know the ones cause black men to say that's the reason they don't date black women anymore.
It's really sad to see a man who has entirely black family, including beautiful black children would have such low regard for black women. I've heard stories about his preference in the past but never in a million years would I think he would make it that obvious, especially knowing that his TV show is not exactly catering to whites.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson made a statement on Twitter that certain women are mad because they didn't get picked. He also claimed he was colorblind.
Colorblind or not, black women see this as suspicious behavior. Black women are sensitive when they think black men are purposely looking for women from other races to date. It is easier for a black woman to deal with the reality of a black man who "happens" to fall in love with a woman from another race, than "knowing" a black man is purposely dating all other races, but his own. This has hurt black women for years. This situation with Chad Ochocinco has become personal. Yet, there's no way around it, so let it go sistas. If this is true about Chad then yes...it still hurts a little ...it still stings... and to some of us it is a slap in the face. But, everyone is entitled to his or her dating preferences even if it hurts someone's feelings. We pick up and move on because that's what sistas do. We bounce back cause we made like dat.

Post a CommentHe is one ugly Black man. Black as tar. I wouldn't want him marrying into my light skin family or to my light skin daughter anyway. He is too damn dark and ugly. I'm not going to hate on the white women, they can have this man. But, El DeBarge and Prince are so beautiful. They should have a reality show, not that blue black ugly Ochocinco. LOL
LOL I for one don't blame Chad at all. White girls and hispanics treat you better. They are also more respectful and caring. I was walking in the store just the other day and this girl did this weird shrug off at me like I was about to holla at her or something I was like WTF Does she know me from somewhere? I rarely go out so highly unlikely. I've never had any other girl of a different race do that. Sad thing is thats not the first or second time its happened.
It makes better t.v. if the women aren't black. If the women aren't black, the show all of a sudden looks like a show for all races instead of a "black show". I'm sure he was influenced or encouraged to pick as many non black people as possible. VH1 needs people to view the show first and formeost. Of course money comes first, and they need the white and hispanic population to view the show. I would get mad, but I think it's more about business than preference. Besides, I haven't heard any other black women express any desire for him anyway.
Sad but not surprising...how many athletes ignore women of color anyway. I'm glad there is a big deal being made about it now.
I overheard two woman talking about this in the shower at the Y...(TMI, sorry) and I couldn't believe it. Wow.
good grief, what next.
