"No Labels" PAC Nothing to Brag About

Snidely Whiplash
What a load of garbage. There's a new sheriff in town folks...No Labels, a PAC that proudly proclaims their motto "Not Left, Not Right. Forward." How clever is that? Gosh I wish I had come up with it...really, I mean it. I wish I had thought it up and went live with it so I could have raked in the donations of the lame, the confused, the "centrist" and especially the LEFT! If there's a conservative joining this outfit, no worries...they weren't a conservative to begin with.

Lemme tell folks what this really is. This is the left taking a pounding in public opinion polls. Recall Rasmussen or Gallup had a late Summer poll revealing only 19% identified themselves as "liberal" and 40% self-identified as conservative. Recall this is and always has been a "center right" nation. Recall the incessant labeling of conservatism as "hate" and all other manner of denigration by the left.

Recall that the farther we are past Obamacare being shoved down the nation's throat despite our clear, loud and majority opinion that we did not want it, the LESS popular it becomes in public polling. Recall the blame game that says none of this nations issues are the fault of the Democrat majority Congress since 2007, almost a full two years BEFORE the trouble cropped up.

Recall that all spending comes from the House Way & Means Committee and that our yearly deficit has exploded since the House went Democrat controlled in January, 2007. Now consider Obama's two budgets that are each at least $1.3 Trillion over our revenues, and then tell me this isn't anything other than progressives seeking cover for their continued efforts at slipping their un-American agenda past the public. Now recall the election in November. The resounding spanking, rejection and complete repudiation of progressive ideology barely one month ago.

Given the foregoing facts, who might reader's think, ya know, just off the tops of one's head, would be the ones rushing to join a group with no name? Conservatism trounced progressives 6 weeks ago yesterday. Would the winners - conservatives - want to abandon the identification of being a winner? When your home team wins the World Series or the Superbowl do ya quickly try to join a group of non-aligned fans, ya know, cause the label "WINNER" is just too, too much for ya?

The "No Labels" group is, I would bet my bottom dollar, made up of disaffected lefties, middle of the road types who buy into the whole non-aligned position, and RINO's. So why then would conservatives, on the evening after our biggest Congressional win in 70+ years, join an organization that repudiates the winners? Answer: They wouldn't! The truth is "No Labels" are a mish mash of progressive losers and RINOs, and I don't give a damn about what RINO's think or want.

Why is it that lefties are so proud to announce their position; so quick to defame any who do not agree and then argue that everyone needs to come to their position? Does that make rational sense? If liberalism is the be all and end all, why would they join a group that rejects their hard fought label? Liberals are proud of their position. They announce their beliefs in public with no regard that there might be others within earshot who do not agree.

I am of the opinion this is nothing but another effort to dilute conservative power. It's the "bipartisanship" argument framed in a different wrapping paper. The left are all for bipartisanship provided it is conservatives moving toward the liberal position. The chatter, anger and vehemence over the tax compromise is living proof that if they must budge off of their position even one iota, they are mad to the point of being inconsolable.

It takes a fool to believe "No Labels" is a grassroots movement of people who just want government to be better, more efficient and responsive. "No Labels" is an amalgam, really a foul soup, of RINO's, angry leftists trying a new tactic and of course the politically naive who believe if we take no position at all we'll be better off for it.

Could any sizable portion of the nation's citizens be so absolutely naive as to fall for this? Any takers that the usual suspects will pop up all over the place telling us how wonderful it is to be totally indefinable? "No Labels" is yet another example of the incessant efforts of the left to point at conservatives and try and destroy them for being conservative.

Think about it...who is it who plays "identity politics" at every turn? Which party defines their power by racial, ethnic and economic voting blocks? What is the general ideology of those who tout their concern for "X" type American? Who is it who is in a never ending quest to attach identifiers to every group? And now "No Labels" pops up as some noble effort, claiming it's about getting things done? That's just plain ignorant. It's an effort to get cover and nothing more. A blatantly hollow and transparent attempt to disguise leftist political wishes as "mainstream" and what everyone wants. This is nothing but a big steaming pile of odoriferous leftist blather.

If one wants to see more responsive, lean and efficient government, vote out progressives who believe that only growing government is the answer to every ill one can imagine.

I get your touchy feely point Linda but the reality Love is that humans do attach labels to everyone and everything and have always done so. We seek the opportunity to be with our like minded...it's as natural as breathing, and about that innocuous. Humans will always seek those in agreement in some form. We all seek to self-validate ourselves and our positions. Look around you - organizations all over Hell's half acre where people seek them out to amalgamate themselves with the principles of whatever organization is in question. No labels is a cop out and an effort by the left to once again dilute conservative power by trying to attach some level of question if one chooses to stand for things they truly believe in.

I kind of like the idea but then again, I have absolutely no idea what my political party is or should be. I once took a test that said I should be in the Whig party but I don't know what that means. I'm kind of sick of the labels and the bashing of one party to the next. I mean, just because I disagree with one political issue doesn't make me a leftist, republican, democrat or tea-partier. I think the idea of "no labels" is a pretty good one. Some of us, especially those like me who believe different things along all of the party lines, are really sick of being lumped in one group and having to back that group even if we disagree. I'm all for 'No Labels' if there are true to their name.

Instead of "No labels" why not just call themselves the "Generics" - same thing, different noname brand?!? cheers, Jimbo
