No Money on Father's Day

Getting Creative Again

posh_post
When we don't have money, we get creative. We think of ways to celebrate a happy occasion--ways that don't mean money.

For several years now, my husband and I would treat my father and mother and we eat out during Father's Day. But not this year. Things had been difficult for my husband and I lately and we could not afford to eat out, even for this just one meal.

So for this year, it will be something creative, but something that will not cost us. Getting into thinking about it, not being able to dine out doesn't mean that it diminishes my love for my father. The love is there. But I could just not afford to spend on extra things.

And well, to start the day off, I will send him a text message at 12 midnight on Father's Day, greeting him a Happy Father's Day. And in the morning, I will call him and greet him on the phone. When I get to see him in church, I will give him a kiss and pray for him.

I think that given the circumstances, that is the best thing I can do for my father to show him my love.

If you live in the same house, then you can do many things for your father, like make him a meal, clean his car, etc. There are just so many things we can do. Just think creatively.

So to all who are experiencing financial crisis, do not despair. We can all get through this and celebrate the coming Father's Day with so much love.
