"Let food be your medicine". The Father of Medicine, Hippocrates, spoke these words. And what he said certainly also applies on acne treatment.
Just like mentioned earlier, prefer drinking tea than coffee. Changing your habits might be a little hard. But big changes do not come instantly. It does not happen in a blink of an eye. To finally put an end to acne, it takes is a handful determination and perseverance. I'm not asking you to cut down on food, but to make certain changes on the food you're accustomed eating.
I've got a few suggestions that you might want to consider:
Start your day with a bowl of hot oatmeal, with raisins or nuts added. Abstain from the usual milk and cereal.
If you can, eat brown rice instead of the usual white rice.
With regards to bread, have the whole-grain crusty ones. Refrain from eating soft white breads.
And in place of flavoured juices, eat the whole fruits instead.
Ice cream may taste good, but yogurt is better and healthier. But be sure to eat the no sugar or the low fat yogurts. The market now offers yogurt with a variety of fruits added to make it taste better.
And, instead of fried foods, try the baked ones. Fried stuff is too oily and is definitely bad for your skin. You must cut back on these. Choose baked potatoes or baked chicken. Turkey paired with Swiss cheese would be a good alternative from ham or bologna.
Now, you know what they say on sweets. Too much on candies is bad. And know that they're not only talking about your teeth, your skin also suffers when you excessively indulge on sweets. Try walnuts or dry roasted almonds instead.
Another stuff that you should keep away from is egg yolk. Only eat the egg whites from now on.
About milk, it is generally good for your health. But if you want to be pimple-free, maybe you should consider drinking soymilk more, rather than cow milk as it tends to contain more fat.
For dishes wherein ground beef is usually used, better switch to ground turkey.
Lastly, don't forget to add more fruits and veggies to your diet. Eat more meat that have lean protein, like fish or baked chicken. And refrain from junk food, if not none at all. All these suggestion might look simple. But remember that little changes make big difference. Your skin depends on it
