No More Control

with jaded tears
her corruption flows
through me
stinging my skin
and claiming control
this is all I've ever known
I hate the sensation
and burning pain
in my heart
that I bear
like a badge
of triumph
proof that the good
in my heart
can conquer
her deception
her fear
her rejection
its time to end
the journey of self-pity
and procure to the next
stage in life
to be a mother
and possibly a wife
but I know I cannot
unless these things in me
change
you have no more control
in my life
I will take back
what was rightfully
mine to begin with
my life.
