'No More Kardashian' Online Petition 'Off the Scale' in Popularity!

Kim Kardashian and her family are the objects of a real modern day mutiny. An online petition addressed to E! Entertainment wants the Kardashian clan's shows banished from the TV. This coincides with Kim's bizarre 72 day marriage, which many suggest was a hoax for TV ratings, according to The Hollywood Gossip.

The petition is so popular today that it is causing site outages, according to Gopetition.com. The site posted: "We apologize for any server outages, but this petition is just off the scale in popularity." It looks as if people are interested in signing the petition, or it could be that the publicity has sparked curiosity? Either way, it's a busy destination today.

According to the petition's organizer Cyndy Snider, they've already collected "thousands of signatures" asking E! Entertainment to remove all the Kardashian shows from their line-up. The shows are "staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption," says Snider. What ever happened to the old-fashioned concept of just turning the channel?

Snider says that many young people are looking to this family and imitating the Kardashian sisters while looking up to them. She is also quick to remind you that the Kardashian fame's foundation comes from a "leaked sex tape."

While the Kardashian's might be all of the things Snider has stated to some people, other's look to the Kardashian shows as pure entertainment and not as a script for their own lives. With the way TV programing is today, many shows would need to come off the air if what this petition is citing is offensive enough to have the Kardashian's plucked from TV programing. Kardashian programing is far from the worst out there demonstrating these traits.

TV today offers over 100 channels in some areas, so it is a matter of choice. Whether Snider and the petition organizers realize it or not, their demands to have the Kardashians dethroned will just grant their shows more publicity. The people who've never tuned in to see Kim have a bad hair day or their precious family bounding moments at the nail salon might just do so to see what all the hoop-la's about. This is just good advertising for Kim and her family!
