No Nut Desserts that Everyone Loves

Nut-Free Desserts Offer Rich Variety of Choices

Nut-Free Desserts that Everyone Loves - When you or someone you know has a nut allergy, it definitely affects what foods you serve and eat. Indeed, the consequences for some people are dire if they so much as inhale the scent of a particular nut like a peanut. Many schools and camps have begun to forbid the presence of foods or cookies that contain peanuts because of the severe reactions that can happen when someone is allergic to them. Even expectant mothers are now advised to steer clear of nuts if there is a history of such allergies in the family. Still, a nut-free diet doesn't have to eliminate people's favorite desserts. Rather than obsessing about what you or others can't eat, think about all the desserts without nuts that you can still enjoy.

Fruit Pies, Crisps, and Cobblers
Cherry, apple, strawberry-rhubarb, triple berry, peach--take your pick. With few exceptions, a fruit pie or crisp or cobbler is not likely to call for nuts.

Custards and Flans
Creamy and satisfying, a custard or flan with caramel or raspberry sauce is sure to satisfy and impress your family or guests. The French have their creme brulee, the Spanish and Vietnamese their flans, so what is not to enjoy about these fine desserts?

Shortcake
It's hard to say which is better--fresh strawberry or juicy blackberry shortcake at the end of a summer day. The crumbly good sweetness just might convince you to have an encore the following day.

Gingerbread and Ginger Snaps
Savor the blend of cinnamon, ginger and cloves as the flavors melt together on your tongue. Many gingerbread recipes also call for molasses, which is surprisingly good for you, while also making your treats tasty.

Chocolate Mousse and Souffle
If you are in the mood for creamy or fluffy and love all things chocolate, try a mousse or craft a souffle. Mousse is easy to come by or whip up yourself. And souffle is, well, the essence of elegance in a lovely white cup.

So with these desserts in mind, you can at last set your worries at bay and start savoring desserts that will safely and surely delight anyone who partakes. Rather than feeling deprived or limited because you have to eliminate nuts, you can enjoy an extensive variety of desserts that people love but sometimes overlook. Now how long ago was it that you last put a forkful of fragrant berries, cream, and shortcake into your mouth?
