No One Can Tell Me Not to Write

I stare at the ceiling
and wait for a drop
of creativity
to fall on my head.

I look out the window
for an idea
to cross my mind.

I type in a word,
[This might work]
I hit the backspace
faster than my thoughts.

I look around my desk,
I search for clues
to come up with
that first sentence,
but all I find...

a white screen
saying to me,
Have you given up yet?
You don't have what it takes.
You just don't. Give up.

My reply:
"But it touches my soul,
it wakes up my senses..."

"It heals my anxiety
of a writer's block."
