No Pants Day - Sunday January 10, 2010 - People All Over Will Take Their Pants Off on the Train and Air it All Out!
No Pants Day in Boston, NY, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago, and 1000 Other Cities Will Take Off Their Pants
The big "No Pants Day" is celebrated in New York where last year over 1,200 people, strangers to each other, boarded the subways and took off their pants. One of the rules is that you pretend like nothing is going on and that you do not notice that others are pant less. You just ride the subway as you would any other day with one exception - no pants!
This was all started by "Improve Everywhere" a group that stages these strange but cool gatherings for people to get together and do. Their theme is "Improve Everywhere" - "We Cause Scenes".
Check out the video from last year's "No Pants Day" in NY. And get the scoop on where to go and the other cities that are doing this. This will give you the RSVP Facebook site for your city. Click here for information: Improve Everywhere - Global No Pants Day.
As you can see in the video, people are acting like nothing is different while they are all sitting around reading and looking at the sights just like any other day.
Here are some of the bigger cities that are participating, but there are over a thousand cities and towns all together.
Adelaide, Australia -
Amsterdam, The Netherlands -
Atlanta, Georgia -
Boston, Massachusetts -
Calgary, Canada -
Chicago, Illinois -
Denver, Colorado -
Hamburg, Germany - \
Lisbon, Portugal -
Los Angeles, California -
Montreal, Canada -
New York, New York -
Phoenix, Arizona -
Portland, Oregon -
Salt Lake City, Utah -
San Francisco, California -
Seattle, Washington -
Seoul, Korea -
Sydney, Australia -
Toronto, Canada -
Twin Cities, Minnesota -
Vienna, Austria -
Warsaw, Poland -
Washington, DC -
In a world full of terrorist and crime, it is nice to see a fun organized "happening" that lets everyone who is participating feel like part of a bigger group. It promises to be a fun spectator sport too. This might just be worth a trip into the city to watch the unsuspecting people's faces as they stumble upon a train full of people in their underwear.
So, if you get on a train on Sunday and a bunch of people are wearing no pants, you will know why!

Post a Commentspectator sport for me
Why do I always get around to viewing articles and leaving comments when I'm busy? This time I'm eating lunch . . .
Truly amazing! Don't think I'd be up for this. Great article. :-)
Call me crazy...call me crazy, but I think the majority of people partaking in No Pants Day have got to be the moral relativist liberals who have no shame. Perverts!
This isn't one of those personal experience articles, is it Roz?
Great job covering this info, ROz!
Ok never heard of this but have to admit can't see myself doing this still brings a giggle to think about :)
