I wrote a new poem;
There is no photo attached;
Use only your minds;
Imagination is all there is left;
No more visual enhancement;
Unless I can take a picture;
Or I learn how to draw;
Photographs will be absent;
I don't want to break the rules;
I want to do what is right;
Sometimes rules are too restrictive;
But still we must accept them;
Even when they are oppressive.

Post a CommentLoud and clear! And the style is so perfect. Wonderful job. (The photos you pick will be missed, but your true art will always be just right for me. Keep the poems coming - as if anyone could stop you!)
I understand how you feel Lisa, there are things you'd like to share with us so much, but it just won't happen as you wish. I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm with Kady here. Regardless they are photos or not, I still feel the visual impact of your poems in my mind (and my heart). :-)
I am not disputing copyright...that needs to be enforced...amen to that...what I am upset about is the inability to use photos from a free source such as Microsoft Clip Art. and Flickr....I am not gaining any profit from the using the photos...but AC is the boss...you know what I am saying...they need to clarify their policies so people do not unintentionally violate them.
It is a shame that there has to be copyright laws, but people want to be recognized for there creativity. I haven't looked at what AC has to say I just publish my own pictures then there is no problem. Maybe we should all become photographers. Thank you for this write. Good job Miss Lisa. Ken
To my readers and fellow writer/poets- This is a protest poem about AC's new photo policy. I did not understand the policy before, and now that I do...there will be no more photos submitted with my poems unless I can take them myself, or I can get them from a AC approved site. Microsoft Clip Art can not be used anymore. (Unless I am told different) I love adding photos because they really do enhance the visuals that I want to project. There are and always will be bad apples who spoil things for the rest of us. I am sorry...and I know that this really sucks but, I would rather not publish photos at all rather than risk a life-time ban on Associated Content.
This poem is just about perfect: perfect protest; perfect form; perfect sentiment; perfect philosophy; perfect understanding. BINGO.
((Remember, you can still sign up for Free to download Free Royalty-Free Images at www.sxc.hu/index.phtml . They've got very nice ones accessible by subject search.... A rainbow in the storm clouds.))
You go, girl! I think AC has had some problems with people uploading copyright-protected photos, so they just clamped down on ALL photos. Love your poem! I hear your shouts of protest! ha!
I love this, this is exactly what poetry is about!!!
