No Place for Me

Jessaka Romine
Where are you supposed to go
When there's nowhere you want to be
I go within myself to hide away
For that is where nobody can see

Always an outsider looking in
I haven't quite found my spot
I know I don't want to be here
And being there makes my stomach knot

I can see black and white so clearly
I don't care much for the grey
In a world that runs outside the lines
Those like me are the ones to pay

Life is hard when you play by the rules
Nothing ever comes for free
Everyone ready to take advantage
Everyone aching to disagree

I have my own thoughts
My own opinions, my own fears
I have none I trust to share them with
And so they fall in my tears
