No Regrets

C. Love
If you could do your life over
What would you change
If you changed too much
Would you still be the same
If you undid the hurt
And erased the pain
Would the end result
Be loss or gain
The mistakes we've made
Along the way
Have shaped who we've become
This very day
Though all the turmoil
We learn to heal
The emotions we go through
Help us deal
The things we regret
Above it all
Had the biggest impact
If we stop to recall
They're the lessons that shaped
How we think today
That's where our character
Foundations were laid
To do it all over
Would mean erasing yourself
In essence you'd end up being
Someone else
In some cases
That might be best
Most often something
God wouldn't suggest
He knew before
The foundations of earth
Everything we'd go through
Prior to our birth
Our experiences, good or bad
Added line by line
Construct us into what
God distinctively designed
We should learn the lessons
Along the way
To prevent repeating
Them another day
Our grief, in essence
Is for those around
With which we share our lives
To help them out
What we go through
Isn't just about us
But more about the lives
That will be touched
Staring all over
Could prevent someone else
From pushing through &becoming
Their best self
When it hurts or sucks
And you do things you regret
Remember it's life's recipe
And don't forget
These are the significant moments
That will direct your course
Live life to the fullest
Let go of remorse
