Description:

Valerie Fabian was the victim of a car accident one year ago. On the one-year anniversary of her death, the person who drove the other car was shot and killed. Bob Fabian, the husband, was also shot. During the investigation, the police discovered Bob had placed a call to 9-1-1 and stated "there had been a murder and his brother. . ." and the call ended with a gunshot. The bullets are found to have come from the same gun.

Sophie Greenway, owner of a hotel and a restaurant reviewer, worked for Bob at the paper. This connection has Sophie interested in looking into the murder and finding out who committed the murders.

Bob had a brother-in-law, Phil Banks, and a half-brother, Andy Gladstone. Both are suspects because they fall in the brother category. Phil is a man who has been married twice and marries a woman who is young enough to be his daughter. Their marriage happens in expeditiously. Phil wants his new wife to be his alibi for the night of the murders. Andy, married to Anika, is a young man who has problems opening up to his wife. . . about anything. Anika gives Andy an alibi for the evening of the murders, although it is a lie.

Andy has problems at work, and he distances himself further from Anika. Phil isolates his wife Chris, and she becomes suspicious of a few events. Both are found to be guilty. . . but which one is guilty of the murders? Only by reading the book will you find out.

Review:

Ms. Hart is a master at storytelling. She cleverly weaves the story with the use of characters and happenings. The twists and turns are masterful.

My Opinion:

Two thumbs up! I was kept guessing until the end. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
