Yet, the nature of the crimes is disturbing. Nearly half of the crimes were violent with physical threat. Most of the crimes were not preventable.
This puts residents of the Clinton Hill area in a dangerous position.
The violent crimes were:
9/27 - Armed robbery - Three (3!) thugs robbed a man at gunpoint on Greene Avenue near Clermont Avenue at 9:10 pm. This should be a reasonable time to walk the streets. It wasn't 2:00 am. Luckily, the victim was not shot, but the potential for injury was great.
9/28 - Knifepoint mugging - A young woman was waiting for the G train at Fulton Street Station when a creep came up behind her and put a knife to her throat for her purse at 12:30 pm. Luckily, the woman was not slashed. But the crime was brazen and dangerous for the hour.
9/29 - Mugging - Two, (2!) thugs beat a 38-year old woman for her purse on Adelphi Street between Greene Avenue and Fulton Street at 12:30 am. The hour is a little dangerous and the woman was physically harmed.
10/1 - Beating - One man beat another man with an umbrella on Grand Avenue between Fulton Street and Lefferts Place at 2 pm. The hour is reasonable. Yet, the victim needed medical attention.
I did another report on the times crimes are being committed in the Clinton Hill area. The criminals are too bold. They are accosting people in the board daylight or early evening.
I'm sure the police are looking into this problem. In the meantime, I suggest going out in groups of two or more people. Every one of this week's victims was alone when attacked.
Stay safe, till next time.

From the skyscrapers of NYC, I face strength. From the people of NYC, I gain understanding. And from the heart of NYC, I feel inspiration. So, I tend to write about the city quite a bit. View profile
