To Make a No Sew Fabric Basket You Will Need:
Fabric
Interfacing
Fabric glue
Grommets
Ribbon
The first step is to cut out two large squares of fabric. Felt is a great fabric because it does not fray.
Now, cut out two equal size piece fo heavy weigh interfacing. You now have four pieces all the same size.
Trim the interfacing down one inch on all sizes.
By the way, a great size for this fabric basket is 16 inched by 16 inches. 20 by 20 inches is also great for more storage.
Now, iron one piece of interfacing to each square of felt. A hot iron is all you need. Iron them square of interfacing to the middle of each felt square. Center them.
Now, once the fabric has cooled you are ready to assemble the fabric basket.
Lay the first felt square fabric side down on a table The interfacing side should be up. Now, lay the next square interfacing side down on top of the first square.
Line up all sides.
Use a grommet maker to make a hole in the four corners. Each corner will have 2 holes. These holes should be one to inches in from the corner and bout one inch down from the edge.
Now, install a grommet in each hole. You now have eight grommets in the fabric that are holding the two squares of fabric together.
Now, use a piece of ribbon to tie the two holes together on the corner.
You want to pull the inside of the grommets together on each corner to cerate a wall of the fabric basket.
Now, once the sides are tide together press the inside fo the fabric basket down. The interfacing will help hold the shape to create the base of the fabric basket.
If you need more support you can install two grommets in the bottom owners of the basket as well. Tie these together with a ribbon and you will really have a sturdy no sew fabric basket!
Depending on what you are putting in the no sew fabric basket though, you will not need the bottom sets of grommets.
