No Sew Reusable Gift Wrap Ideas

Reusable gift wrap is the best way to cut back on the wasted resources and monumental amount of trash that traditional paper gift wrap creates. There are a number of approaches to reusable gift wrap, and sewing projects designed especially to be reusable gift wrap are popular. This does not necessarily leave out non-seamstresses when it comes to reusable gift wrap. Sewing wrapping cloths and special reusable fabric bags are great ways to stock up on reusable gift wrap if you can sew, but there are many no-sew options for reusable gift wrap as well.

Use placemats, tablecloths, and cloth napkins. These are particularly good wrapping for house wares or food gifts. Many people will enjoy the wrapping as much as the present inside when presented with reusable gift wrap made from a seasonally appropriate table linen. These are often very nice things to have, but many people might not buy them for themselves. In this way, the reusable gift wrap is a thoughtful present as well.

A pretty storage box makes a great reusable gift wrap as well. These come in many shapes and sizes and are guaranteed to be put to good use by the recipient. My preference in this case would be to choose a box that is not overtly "holiday" in it's style, so that it might be useful all year round. A solid colored box of brown, red, green or white can easily be enhanced and made to look more festive with striped ribbon, yarn, and a tied on candy cane. Reusable gift wrap doesn't need to be flashy or particularly holiday themed to have a festive appeal.

A purse, tote bag, or small suitcase that is in good shape could be found secondhand at a thrift store or rummage sale. Many times bags end up at the Goodwill not because they're in poor shape, but because people often just get tired of using the same one. These are good reusable gift wrap options because buying secondhand puts less stress on resources, cutting back on the need to manufacture new goods, while at the same time keeping serviceable, but used, things from the landfills. A pretty holiday broach can be fastened to the bag or it could be festooned with a large ribbon bow to give this reusable gift wrap a jolly touch.

Fleece throws and blankets are also very useful reusable gift wrap. A gift of pampering products, or dvds is complemented perfectly by a lush comfy blanket for reusable gift wrap. Baby gifts look really sweet wrapped up in a crib quilt or receiving blanket, tied with a rattle or pacifier, and a nice baby blanket is sure to get lots of use in the future.

Avoiding traditional paper wrapping is eco-friendly, and reusable gift wrap is often a valuable enhancement to a holiday gift as well.
