Look for a scarf that is decorative in nature and even one that has fringe on the sides to add more style to the window treatment. Take the scarf and simply drape it over a curtain rod to make a valance for the window. Look for a curtain rod that is decorative since it may show on the ends.
Lace Tablecloth No Sew Window Treatments
This is another simple and cheap window treatment that can look beautiful in your windows and is a no sew project. Look around your house for any lace or delicate tablecloths that you may have. If you don't have any, you can find some cheaper lace tablecloths at places like Wal-Mart and discount stores. You will also need to buy some clip on drapery rings along with a curtain rod, if you don't have one already. Position the tablecloth so that it hangs the long way down the window. Use the clip on drapery rings to clip the tablecloth and attach it the curtain rod. Make sure to evenly space out the drapery rings. Take some satin or lace ribbon and tie the window treatment together in the middle of the window, right above the window sill. Be sure to tie the ribbon in a pretty bow to finish the window treatment off.
Patterned Tablecloth No Sew Window Treatments
For this really easy no sew window treatment you will need a patterned tablecloth. You can change this window treatment to fit the different seasons. For summer time you may want a nice light and flowery pattern and during the holiday season you can put up a Christmas patterned tablecloth. Simply take the patterned tablecloth and fold it in half diagonally. Use drapery tacks to pin the tablecloth to the frame of the window. You can find decorative drapery tacks at most home improvement stores and home furnishing stores. Let the corners of the tablecloth hang loose at each end of the window. This makes a creative window valance that you can change whenever you like and is still inexpensive.
