According to them trick or treating is hard work, some kids even map out a system to get the most candy for the time they have to scour the streets and porches. The least we could do is give them what they are looking for.
After asking them all what they wanted this is the list they came up with.-
5. Smarties
They didn't get totally ruled out, but they were the bottom pick. I guess the little package is something that never goes out of style.
4. Chewy Candy Bars
Chewy Candy Bars like Million Dollar Bar and Nestle's crisp, are what the trick or treater really wants. Forget the knock off brands, they want name brand chocolates.
3. Candy Corns and Taffy Candies
Like those orange wrapped peanut butter tasting taffies that nobody knows what the name of them are but everyone knows what it tastes like- peanut butter taffy!
2. Homemade Bags of Chocolate Candies
Anything from caramel apples to colored popcorn balls, parents and kids alike feel safer having kids eat these first because someone took the time to care and prepare these goodies. If the kids don't eat them the parents will.
1. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
The most popular candy they requested believe it or not was the Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Digging down deep, they wont stop until they eat the last one and there is never enough it seems! They love the individual Reese's candies and that is what they look for first. I have to mention a second runner up to Reese's is the snicker bar. Who doesn't love snickers?
A few tricks they really don't like is coupons for free things like McDonald's and eateries or books. Yah mom and dad like them but the kids want good candy and they want it now! Another no- no for most kids is pennies. What kid would turn down money? For some reason they don't want pennies especially on Halloween, its candy they are after and I'm sure if they had five dollars in pennies they would change it all in for a Butterfinger bar on Halloween night.
Alas, lets remember that Its that spooky time of the year again and heavy on the mind is that crazy night the kids get dressed up and venture out to get their treats. This year stay away from the Jujubes and cheap lollipops. Stick to the good stuff! Don't ruin a child's Halloween, they will remember that forever!
