No Truth to Royal Oak Parking Rate Hike Letter Rumor

I recently spent some time at Woody's in Royal Oak, and noticed that a lot of Royal Oak residents and visitors were talking about the possibility of parking rates being raised in Royal Oak. While there has not been an official statement from the Royal Oak City Commission, there are a lot of people that are very concerned.

When I asked where they got this information from about parking rates being raised in Royal Oak, a resident by the name of Stephen Miller stated that, "I heard from one of my friends that works at a store on Main Street. She said that the city sent them a letter about raising the parking rates."

I called a few of the stores along Main Street in Royal Oak, and none of them had received any kind of letter. In fact, many of the people that I had talked to had heard about a supposed letter that was sent out.

This led me to call the offices of the City Commission about the supposed letter. I was told that no such letter had gone out. I was also told that some of the rates had already gone up around the city, but that there was no further planning going on about raising any more of the Royal Oak parking rates at this time.
