Noah's Ark Found on Mt. Ararat?
The Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers who discovered what is believed to be Noah's Ark, have reported that the carbon testing on the rope and wood found on Mt. Ararat have proven to be 4,800 years old.
The date coincides with the Bible's recordings regarding the flood and the creation of the Ark. And the possibility that an Ark would first come to rest on a mountain top before the rest of the waters subsided is plausible.
Interestingly, according to Noah's Ark Search, "In 1829 Dr. Frederich Parrot, a German professor of natural philosophy from Estonia, visited St. Jacob's monastery at the 7,000 foot level on the northwest side of the mountain at the village of Ahora, prior to his historic climb to the summit...There he wrote...that the monks showed him wood, manuscripts and artifacts from Noah's Ark."
Also, according to the same source, Prince John Joseph of Nouri claimed to have found Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat in 1887 and, in 1893, wanted to form an expedition to dislodge the Ark from the mountain and reassemble it for an exhibition. The Turkish government denied his request for the permit that would have enabled him to reassemble Noah's Ark at the Chicago World's Fair.
With so much talk about the end of the world, and more specifically December 21, 2012, and in a world currently filled with violence, is it possible that Noah's Ark is surfacing now as a reminder to us that our violence is escalating to the point where God may have to intercede again on our behalf?
Will nonbelievers look at the Bible with new-found respect if the discovery proves to be the actual Ark built by Noah?
In Genesis 6:13 {6:13} God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth."

They have claimed to find the ark many times since I was a kid. I believe the Bible, but I don't believe every ark tale that comes along!
Hmmm...4800 years would not be enough time to petrify. I still have my doubts about the whole thing.
The only good thing about hoaxes is that they are usually a counterfeit of the real thing. But the truth is the truth, whether there is a counterfeit or not.
Unless the wood of the Ark has petrified, I sincerely doubt it still exists.
