Directions for No-Bake Chocolate Cookie Recipe
1
MIx first 4 ingredients
Bring the first 4 ingredients; sugar, butter, milk and cocoa powder to a rolling boil in a dutch oven or large 4-quart saucepan. Stir constantly.2
Remove from heat source
Remove the pan from the burner.3
Add the peanut butter
In the same pan, stir in the peanut butter and add the vanilla extract until smooth and completely blended.4
Add oats
Stir in oats until well blended.5
Drop onto wax paper
Scoop up the mixture with a tablespoon. Drop onto a cool wax paper surface. Allow to cool completely.Tip
Place the cookies in the refrigerator for two hours or until completely cool. Move them to a cold oven and allow to dry out overnight. Air-drying the cookies will leave them with a crispy outside and a soft center and prevents them from getting a gooey or sticky texture. Store for up to 7 to 10 days in an airtight container at room temperature. Yields 1 to 2 dozen cookies.
