On Friday evening, I saw a noble man
Getting down from his limousine
Smelling of filthy riches and conceit
Full of fads, demurs and 'yes boss'es around
Shoving away a just breathing old lady
Sinking hollow with dark penetrating eyes
As if she was a material
That didn't amuse him
And he didn't want to buy!

Post a CommentQuite interesting and kind of sad as well! We are all equals!
Super visuals. I could feel his disdain as Iread it. Great poem.
good one...
Made me think of the widow with one coin to put in Jesus' plate. Who is the better person?
And who was he to think that he was worth more than that lady?? We're all born the same way.... Powerful poem!
I'm glad you pointed out the inhumanity in some people, reminding us not to make snap judgments. People deserve to be treated with respect, no matter their clothing or income level.
Hi mimpi,
So true!! And so sad!! The old lady could be anyone........me,you.... but just imagine if the old lady is in his place and he, in old lady's shoes......meted out with same treatment. I like the way you think and feel for not so fortunate ones. - Daffodil .....alias......Golgappi.......that is Phochka....or phochki..lol
So dramatic!
powerful and full of truth
A very apt title . It's sad that people relate to nobility with materialism and not with values. It's suffocating and enraging to see the disgusting behaviour of some in this way. It's extremely well expressed Mimpi and it has me wondering as to what will make people like this to realise and awaken.
