Nokia N80 Multimedia Cell Phone Review

EZ Writer
Nokia has put together the ultimate multimedia phone with the N80. They have thrown any kind of features they could think of into this phone. It sounds weird calling it just a cell phone, because it is so much more than that.

This phone boasts not one but two cameras, one of which is a 3 megapixel beauty with 20x digital zoom, which took surprisingly good quality pictures. The other camera is a lower quality VGA camera. Another big feature of the N80 is the Wi-Fi capability which allows the user to surf the web as well as email from the phone. This phone is bluetooth equipped which allows for hands-free operation with a separate headset. The N80 is also equipped with Real Player which allows you to play music you download from your PC, and it supports multiple music formats. The integrated music player will also play FM stations with the included headphones.

The N80 is short and stout in stature, which isn't great if you store your phone in your pocket because it is a little bulky. This phone measures in at 3.7x1.9x1.0 and weighs 4.7 ounces. It is a slider phone which seems to work well with this phone and makes it a bit smaller. The N80 comes in an all black look, or you can choose an attractive stainless steel look. The 2.2 in. screen looks amazing and has high resolution at 325x416 pixels. The phone's overall integrity is good, which means a long life.

With all the multimedia features on the N80, it is easy to forget that it is still a cell phone. The call clarity of the phone seems to be good. The clarity of the speaker phone seems to be top notch. This phone is rated for 3 hours of talk time with 8 hours of stand-by time. The biggest killer of this phone is the high price tag which will run you at least $500. At this time, the N80 does not have a carrier, although Cingular is rumored to be jumping on board in the future. When this phone does get a carrier, it will explode on to the scene.

Overall, If you can afford the steep price tag of this phone, you will not be disappointed with this multimedia phone. The endless number of features, and the N80's integrity make it a winner.

Pros: tons of features, well built phone, good call clarity.

cons: slightly bulky, high price tag.

Overall rating(1-10): 9
