Nokia Unveils Three New Phones

Natalie Sod
Even before Apple announced the release date of their new iPhone, Nokia, the leading mobile phone manufacturer, introduced last Thursday three new mobile phones to add to their ever increasing line-up. Two of the mobile phones will join Nokia's mid-range handset, while the other one is a high-end phone.

The 8600 Luna will join Nokia's most prestigious line-up of mobile phones. Nokia's craftsmen has now turned their attention to glass. Its design is state-of-the-art and its material is made from glass, chrome, stainless steel and titanium.

Made from opaque smoked-glass and stainless steel, the Nokia 8600 Luna's ergonomic design is sure to be smooth to touch. Heikki Norta, Nokia's Senior Vice President for mobile phones, said, like the Nokia 8600's namesake, Luna, the goddess of moonlight, the phone is a mysteriously captivating beauty encircled in soft, yet radiant light. The Nokia 8600 Luna will use a micro-USB port, a first for any Nokia mobile phones. It will allow users to use only one connection for charging, audio and data connectivity. The Nokia 8600 Luna will sell for 700 euros and will be available on the second quarter of 2007.

The new mid-range phones are the Nokia 6500 classic and the 6500 slide. The Nokia 6500 classic is crafted from 360 degrees of anodized aluminum and is 9.5mm thin. More than a pretty face, the Nokia 6500 classic features dual band 3G technology for faster mobile internet browsing and downloading, as well as quad-band GSM.

Like most of Nokia's mid-range mobile phones, the Nokia 6500 classic also has a 2 megapixel camera with dual LED flash. It also has an integrated music player so you can listen to your mp3s. You won't have to worry about running out of space for your mp3s and pictures because it has a 1 GB of internal memory. Like the Nokia 8600 Luna, the 6500 classic will also have a unified micro-USB connector for charging, audio and data connection. The Nokia 6500 classic is going to be released during the third quarter of 2007 with a price tag of 320 euros.

On the other hand, the Nokia 6500 slide is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and has a stainless steel finish with a smooth slide mechanism. This is the first time that Nokia introduced the Carl Zeiss optics to mid-range phones, aside from that, the 6500 slide also has autofocus, dual LED flash, and an 8x digital zoom. A TV-out jack allows your videos to be viewed on TV as well as allow a group of people to enjoy video calling at the same time. And Like the Nokia 6500 Classic, the Nokia 6500 slide also uses 3G technology and will also be available third quarter of 2007. Its price tag is expected to be 370 euros.
